Scrandle: How to Play the Daily Food Comparison Game

Scrandle is a free daily food comparison game at scrandle.com. Each day you get 10 pairs of food photos, mostly scran from football stadiums, and tap the one you think voters rated higher. Seven or more correct is a win and 10 out of 10 is perfect. The ratings come from social media votes and from Scrandle players themselves.

What is Scrandle?

Scrandle is a daily web game about food, and mostly about the food sold at football grounds. Each round shows two items, such as a pie, a burger or a tray of chips, with where it was sold and what it cost. You tap the one you think people rated higher. Then both ratings are revealed.

The name joins scran, British and Irish slang for food, with -dle, the ending shared by Wordle-style daily games. Its photos come from fans in the stands, so a lot of the fun is in how bad, strange or surprisingly good stadium food can look.

How to play Scrandle

  1. Open the daily at scrandle.com. Everyone gets the same ten matchups that day.
  2. Read both cards. Each shows the item, where it was sold, its price when known, and the year it was submitted.
  3. Tap the item you think was rated higher. You are guessing what voters preferred, not what you would eat.
  4. See the ratings. Both scores appear, and your pick turns right or wrong.
  5. Finish ten rounds. Your score is out of 10, and 7 or more is a win. A bonus round may follow; it is a vote and does not count.
How a Scrandle round works: two food items, each with its location, price and year, and you tap the one you think voters rated higher. Ten rounds a day, scored out of 10, and 7 or more is a win.
Each round is one tap. The ratings for both items are revealed after you choose.

The game resets at midnight GMT (00:00 UTC), and the menu shows a countdown. Missed a day? The History screen lets you replay old dailies back to April 2025.

Scoring: what counts as a win

A daily is scored out of 10. Seven or more is a win, which earns the Proper achievement the first time. Ten out of ten earns The Perfect Scran. Every score comes with a random title from a band, from gloomy titles at 1 to 6 up to celebratory ones at 10. Zero has a hidden title of its own.

Scrandle score scale from 0 to 10: 1 to 6 counts as a loss, 7 to 9 as a win, and 10 as perfect, with 0 getting its own hidden title. Achievements sit at 0, 7 and 10.
Seven correct picks out of ten is the winning line.

After each daily you also see the community's average score for that day. Your History adds a Skill Score, your total compared with the community average, and a Scran Level that rises as you play more dailies and do well. Our Scrandle rules guide covers scoring in full.

Where the ratings come from

The ratings are other people's votes, which is the key to the whole game. The first items were rated by followers of the FootyScran social media account, a page where football fans vote on matchday food. In Scrandle 2 the game added over 1,500 new items rated by Scrandle players themselves. New items first appear as bonus rounds to gather votes. Since May 2026, every item in the daily rotation uses these live community ratings.

So you are not judging the food. You are predicting a crowd that leans towards UK and European football fans. Our Scrandle tips turn that into five quick checks.
