Scrandle Rules: How Rounds, Scores and Ratings Work

In Scrandle you get ten food matchups a day and pick the item you think voters rated higher. Each right pick scores a point, so the daily is out of 10. Seven or more is a win, 10 is perfect. Ratings come from votes, now mostly by Scrandle players. The bonus round is a vote that does not change your score. Dailies reset at midnight GMT (00:00 UTC).

The objective

Each daily Scrandle has ten rounds. In every round two food items appear side by side, and you pick the one you think was rated higher by voters. A right pick scores a point. At the end your score is out of 10.

Score Result Achievement it can unlock
10 Perfect The Perfect Scran
7 to 9 Win Proper (7 or more)
1 to 6 Loss none
0 Loss, with a hidden title The Hard Way
Scrandle score scale from 0 to 10: 1 to 6 counts as a loss, 7 to 9 as a win, and 10 as perfect, with 0 getting its own hidden title. Achievements sit at 0, 7 and 10.
Seven correct picks out of ten is the winning line.

How ratings are set

Scrandle ratings are percentages built from votes, and the vote pool has changed over time:

  1. FootyScran ratings. The original items were rated by followers of the FootyScran social media account, where football fans vote on matchday food.
  2. Community ratings. Scrandle 2, in September 2025, added over 1,500 new items rated by Scrandle players' own votes. These are called dynamic ratings because they keep moving as votes come in.
  3. All dynamic since May 2026. Every item in the daily rotation now uses dynamic ratings.

Two fairness rules sit underneath. Items rated by FootyScran are never compared with community-rated items. Items with no price are only compared with other items that have no price.

The bonus round

New items need votes before they can appear in dailies, so the game serves them as bonus rounds first. Since May 2026, bonus rounds also compare items with similar ratings to sharpen the data. A bonus round does not change your score, so pick honestly: it is the closest thing in Scrandle to casting a vote.

Frequently asked questions

What score wins in Scrandle?

Seven or more out of 10. The game's first achievement, Proper, is for winning a game with 7 out of 10 or higher.

Does the bonus round count in Scrandle?

No. Bonus rounds collect votes to rate new items or compare items with similar ratings. They do not affect your score.

Why do some Scrandle items show no price?

Some submissions came without a price. The game only pairs an item with no price against another item with no price, so price never decides those matchups.

What is Evil Mode in Scrandle?

A harder setting you can switch on in the Options menu. The game describes it as made considerably more evil in Scrandle 2. Winning with it on earns the See No Evil achievement.

What time does Scrandle reset?

Midnight GMT (00:00 UTC) for everyone. Before Scrandle 2 it reset at midnight on each player's own clock.
