How Does Indonesia Connect Through Malaysia in Travle?

Travle allows island hopping within Indonesia and within Malaysia. Combined with their land connection on Borneo, this lets a World route continue from mainland Southeast Asia toward Indonesia.

Separate the land border from the island hops

Malaysia and Indonesia share land on Borneo. The game's explicit within-country island-hop allowances let the relevant separated parts of those countries participate in a continuous journey. You do not enter island names as additional country guesses.

This rule does not allow unrestricted sea travel between unrelated countries. Check a particular pair before assuming proximity creates a connection.

A recorded route through both countries

In the reviewed 2024 Ireland-to-East-Timor game, the final section is:

China → Myanmar → Thailand → Malaysia → Indonesia → East Timor.

Travle gameplay: the Ireland to East Timor result says eleven guesses used and eleven guesses in the shortest solution.
Recorded result: 11 guesses, matching the shortest solution of 11. Video frame · JackSucksAtGeography · 2024-05-26 Watch this moment · 11:37 ↗

The complete attempt used 11 guesses, equal to the minimum shown. This is historical video evidence; the official rules checked on 2 October 2026 still list both Indonesia and Malaysia under permitted island hopping.

If Indonesia is accepted but stays gray

Trace the chain back from Indonesia toward the start. A missing country much earlier in the route can keep both Malaysia and Indonesia disconnected. In this recording, the important gap was between China and Thailand, and entering Myanmar fixed it. Adding another guess near East Timor would not have repaired that earlier gap.

See the missing-link screenshots and full chain. Your current puzzle may use different endpoints or restrictions, so the recorded route is an example rather than a universal answer.
