Denmark to Armenia: compare four versus five

Sweden → Finland → Russia → Azerbaijan used four intermediate countries in the recorded answer; the route via Germany used five. Open the complete Denmark-to-Armenia walkthrough for its starting map, orange feedback and final result.

What to do after an orange guess

  1. Check whether the country has joined the start on the map. Gray means the chain is still disconnected; orange describes the quality of a guess.
  2. Count the unguessed countries on each plausible route. Include fixed links such as Denmark–Sweden and UK–France.
  3. Finish within the remaining allowance. Do not submit a country again just because its colour surprised you.
  4. After the result, compare the revealed minimum with your plan. For your next attempt, settle the route before typing.

If the country is gray, use the before-and-after DR Congo example.

How to plan a Perfect attempt

Plan from both ends, but enter from the start. Write the neighbours of the two endpoints, join them into candidate chains, and count only intermediate countries. Current scoring distinguishes Perfect (shortest, entered in order) from +0 (shortest, entered out of order).

On a long route, identify the hard gap before guessing the obvious large countries. Guessing Russia or China early may help you finish, but entering them out of order can forfeit a current Perfect. See the Ireland-to-Timor missing-link example.

Which mistakes should you practise?

Your mistake Practice target
Connected, but orange Compare alternate exits and count countries
Correct-looking country stays gray Fill the gap back to the start, rather than guessing it again
Border looks close but will not connect Check bridges, tunnels, exclaves and actual shared borders
You know the shape but not the name Use initials, then select the game's suggested spelling

The rules guide, hint walkthrough and US-state example show those mistakes with gameplay frames.
